He said that the order of books and stationery items would be taken by the shopkeepers online or by phone and only home delivery would be done. He said that the shopkeepers would sanitize and pack the books and stationery. The home delivery person will then be required to wear a mask and gloves. He said that parents are advised to sanitize the books and stationery and deliver it to the children within 24 hours. The Deputy Commissioner said that home delivery of books and stationery could not be done in containment zones.

Offices of some private institutions including Transport and CA will be opened

The district administration has given exemption to open some private offices in the district during curfew. An order issued by Deputy Commissioner Virinder Kumar Sharma late last night said that some private institutions within the district were allowed to open offices with 33 per cent staff. The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the orders issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, these private institutes would be able to open their offices from 9 am to 5 pm. Private institutions that will be able to open their offices include transport, brokerage and supplier agencies, insurance companies, stockbrokers, CAs, company secretaries and industrial association offices. 

At the same time, he said that the exemption for opening private offices would not be available in the containment zones. Deputy Commissioner Virinder Kumar Sharma said that in order to open the office, it would be necessary for the health department to follow the rules laid down for the prevention of Kovid-19 epidemic. A curfew will be issued by the employer for those visiting these offices and they will not be allowed to travel after duty hours. Violators will be charged under the Natural Disaster Management Act 2005.
