Protect mandi, MSP system: Hooda to govt

Kurukshetra, September 10

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday said the voice of the people in a democracy cannot be suppressed by the use of force.

"In a democracy, everyone has the right to raise his voice and go anywhere. The farmers are agitating for their legitimate demands. By bringing farm ordinances, the government has forced the farmers to come out on the streets and protest. No ordinance can be in the interest of the farmers unless it guarantees MSP and there is a discussion in Parliament. If the government wants to make any changes in the system, it will have to guarantee the protection of the mandi and the MSP system," Hooda said. — TNS
