Cop refuses to go on poll duty, suspended

Chandigarh, October 27

The UT Police Department today suspended an Inspector, posted in the security wing, for refusing to go on election duty in Haryana. Rajdeep Singh has been suspended and transferred to the Police Lines, Sector 26. The suspension orders were issued by UT SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal.

The SSP said the Inspector was suspended on the basis of prima facie enquiry conducted by DSP Rashmi Yadav.

Sources said the Inspector could not attend the election duty, citing medical reasons.

The SSP said how could he be unfit when he was performing his duty in the city? "It's totally indiscipline in the force, which won't be tolerated," the SSP said.
