Govt to blame for farm crisis, says Hooda

Chandigarh, October 7

Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday blamed the BJP-JJP government for the problems being faced by farmers in the mandis.

"The procurement agencies are refusing to buy the produce on the pretext of high moisture content. Whatever little is being bought is not fetching the MSP. Left with no other option, farmers are selling off the produce to private agencies at a price below the MSP," he said in a statement here.

The former Chief Minister hit out at the Centre and the state government for projecting private agencies as a "messiah" of farmers after the implementation of the three news farm laws. — TNS
