Chandigarh, November 25
In a respite to residents, a water booster has been inaugurated near Shiv Mandir, Burail.
Area councillor Kanwarjeet Singh Rana, who inaugurated the project, said this underground reservoir had a capacity of 1 lakh gallon water. It was built at a cost of Rs70 lakh.
"Residents living on upper floors used to face problems in getting proper water supply. The pressure of water did not reach upper floors. The residents often had to come down to fetch water or depend on water tankers. Now, this problem will not be there," said Rana.
"It was a pending demand. We have been continuously taking it up with the Municipal Corporation. Finally, it has been done," said the councillor.
