One arrested for immigration fraud, 4 at large

Mohali, October 31

The Zirakpur police arrested a man and booked four others for allegedly duping people on the pretext of sending them abroad.

The suspects have been identified as Vikram, a resident of Zirakpur, Manoj Kumar, a resident of Sirsa, Harman, a resident of Rajpura, Rakesh Bajaj, a resident of Ferozepur, and Vikas Goyal, a resident of Panchkula.

The suspects were running an illegal immigration firm in Zirakpur. They duped several persons to the tune of Rs4.52 lakh. The police had got complaints of around 25 persons against them. Vikas had rentd out showroom to Vikram and Manoj.

Rakesh Bajaj has been arrested by the police while the remaining four suspects are at large. The police said hunt was on to nab them.

A case has been registered under Sections 419, 420, 406, 467 and 120-B of the IPC and Section 24 of the Immigration Act at the Zirakpur police station. — TNS
