Pipeline being repaired, residents of Sector 29, Chandigarh getting erratic water supply

Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, November 18

Some parts of Sector 29 are getting erratic water supply for the past five days.

Residents said they had to wait for water tankers every day. Sometimes, these tankers failed to meet their requirement.

"While getting ready for the office, we have another task of fetching water," rued a resident of Tribune Colony.

Another resident said they were getting water on the ground floor, but not the upper floors.

MC officials said the water supply was disrupted in the area as a damaged pipeline was being repaired.

"We are providing sufficient number of water tankers to meet the demand. I have asked engineering wing officials to expedite the repair work," said area councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali.

"It is shocking that for the past five days, the MC could not fix the problem. They must carry out the work on a priority as it is a big hassle for several families living here," added a resident.
