Bomb hoax leads to train search

Faridabad, December 29

The RPF, GRP and railway officials went into a tizzy on Tuesday afternoon after there was a rumour of explosive material in the Jabalpur Festival Special coming from Nizamuddin station in Delhi. The train was allowed to proceed after a search for about three hours.

According to officials, the train was stopped after receipt of information of a bomb in one of its bogies, but nothing was found during the search. The operation of other trains remained unaffected.

A person who had come to see off his kin at the Nizamuddin station reportedly heard someone saying some explosive had been kept in a red bag in one of the bogies of the train that had just left. — TNS
