Man shot in Jagadhri

A 28-year-old man was shot at by unidentified persons in Jagadhri town of Yamunanagar district on Sunday.

Identified as Sumeet of Ajijpur village in Bilaspur sub-division, the victim died in the hospital. He was also robbed of his car and mobile phone.

On the complaint of his brother Chetan, a case was registered against unidentified persons at the city police station, Jagadhri, on Monday.

The complainant said he had received a call around 6.30 pm on Sunday, saying his brother had been shot at near Jagadhri bus stand and he had been admitted to the Civil Hospital.

When he reached the hospital, his brother was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh. "Instead of going to the PGI, we took my brother to MM Medical College, Mullana, where doctors declared him brought dead," Chetan said.
