2 caught cheating during ITBP exam

Chandigarh: Two candidates appearing for the ITBP Tradesman exam were caught cheating at two centres on January 10. Complainant Gagan Sharma, a representative for the offline test at the M/s Alaska online testing centre, Raipur Kalan, told the police that candidate Sandeep of Hisar was caught cheating. A case was registered against him at the Mauli Jagran police station. In another incident, complainant Ravi, an invigilator at MS Technology, reported that Pardeep Sharma of Haryana, was caught cheating. A case was registered. TNS

IMA, Patiala, gets new president

Patiala: At an installation ceremony of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Patiala, held at a hotel on Monday, Dr Neeraj Goyal was elected as president, Dr Nidhi Bansal as secretary, Dr Rohit Aggarwal as treasurer, Dr Harsimran Tuli and Dr Ashish Gupta as vice-presidents. Dr Vishal Kharbanda and Dr Harpreet Kalra were elected joint secretaries (finance) for the year 2021. TNS

RLA Secy gets addl charge

Chandigarh: Virat, an HCS officer, has been given the additional charge of the SDM (East). An order issued by UT Adviser Manoj Parida stated that after relieving Sudhanshu Gautam, SDM (East), the charges held by him will be looked after by his link officer, Virat, Secretary, RLA, in addition to his own duties, till further orders. Staff celebrate new Year

Mohali: Staff members of AKSIPS-125 Smart School celebrated New Year with a difference. At a social responsibility awareness programme, the staff members of the school visited Guru Aasra Trust (Home for the destitute) at Palsora and distributed goodies, toiletries, winter clothes, ration and other daily necessities among residents. The day witnessed a moving and heart-felt interaction between staff members and inhabitants with the former providing refreshments and entertainment. TNS

31 milk samples tested at camp

Kharar: A consumer awareness camp was organised by Punjab Dairy Development Board at LIC Colony, Kharar, on Monday. As many as 31 milk samples were tested at the camp. The results of the test were given in writing on the spot. Samples were tested for the presence of urea, caustic soda and starch. Water was found in only one milk sample. No harmful substances were found in any of the milk samples. TNS
