Man gives talaq over phone, booked

The police have registered a case of triple talaq in Hathin subdivision of the district. No arrest has been made so far.

According to the FIR lodged, the accused, identified as Imran (36) of Bibipur village of Nuh district, had got married with a woman hailing from Hathin in the district in 2004.

The victim alleged that while they had five children from the marriage, Imran, his father and mother sent her to her parents’ house and declined to take her back till she fulfilled their demand of a car and Rs 1.5 lakh as dowry.

The victim, according to the police, claimed that while she expressed her inability to fulfil their demands, her husband called her recently on phone and gave her triple talaq.

“We have registered a case and have launched a probe into the matter,” said Investigating Officer Inderaj.
