Summons to 3 in bribery case

Special Judge, CBI Court, Chandigarh, Sushil Kumar Garg has issued summons to three accused in the bribery case involving a suspended inspector of the Chandigarh Police, Jaswinder Kaur. The court, in the separate order, also directed the telecom companies to preserve the call records as sought by one of the accused, Bhagwan Singh.

After presenting the challan to the Gagan Aggarwal , counsel of accused Jaswinder Kaur, the CBI Court issued summons to accused Sarabjit Singh, Randhir Singh and Narpinder Singh for February 2 at the next date of hearing.

Bhagwan Singh claimed that he intended to produce the call details of the mobile phones of police officials and others with tower locations in his evidence to prove his innocence.

Jaswinder Kaur, former Mani Majra SHO, was booked by the CBI for allegedly demanding Rs5 lakh as bribe from a resident, Gurdeep Singh, in lieu of not registering a cheating case against him.
