Vaccine mock drill at six Karnal centres

Karnal, January 7

The Centre has decided to set up a central delivery store for the Covid vaccine in Karnal, from where it will be further sent to various regions of north India.

“After the nod for two Covid vaccines, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to set up a central delivery store in Karnal,” said Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner. He said a complete cold chain would be maintained after receiving the vaccine. He said the Centre had also proposed the vaccination to healthcare workers in the first phase in coming days.

He was at Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC) to take stock of the preparedness of the department for the Covid vaccination programme under the dry run initiative. A mock drill of administering vaccine to health workers was conducted at six centres, including the KCGMC, Park Hospital, Ram Nagar Dispensary in urban areas along with Primary Health Centres in Kunjpura, Kutail and Shambli in rural areas. — TNS
