The protesting teachers said when they demanded salaries, the school administration forced them to sign a proforma and threatened to sack them.

Shakuntla Garg, senior teacher at SD Vidya Mandir, said the management gave them 45 per cent salary in April, May and June last year, no salary in July and 55 per cent salary in August.

She claimed that the management gave some part of salary to a few select teachers and most of them were ignored as they were waiting for salary since November.

A team led by the District Education Officer reached the school to resolve the issue, but nobody from the management was available.

Some members of the SD Education Society came out in support of the protesting teachers. They visited the school and went to meet the management, but the president and secretary were not present in school.

School chairman Satish Chandra and Principal Sabita Chaudhary could not be contacted for comment despite several attempts.
