Sewa kendras to offer 56 new citizen services

The district administration will make available 56 new citizen-centric services at 15 sewa kendras in Mohali district.

Divulging details, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said these sewa kendras were being used as a common front end for various departments and 271 citizen-centric services were being delivered through sewa kendras at present. He said daily footfall in 15 sewa kendras of the district ranged between 1,300 and 1,500. As many as 1.12 lakh services had been delivered in a period of 24 months through 69 counters at these sewa kendras.

Girish Dayalan said the additional 56 services launched today were related to departments such as transport, police and revenue. These include saanjh kendra service of acknowledgement of a complaint for any kind of offence filed with the Police Department, obtaining information of action taken on a complaint, copy of FIR or DDR, copy of untraced report in road accident cases, copy of untraced report in case stolen vehicle, copy of untraced report in theft cases, NoC for use of loud speakers, NoC for fair/melas/ exhibition/ sports events, NoC for pre-owned vehicles, police clearance for visa, complaint to police for missing articles, character verification, tenant verification/PG, employee verification, domestic help or servant verification, new arms licence and renewal of arms licence. — TNS
